Socio, a digital project dreamed up in a classroom that turned into a money-making venture less than six month ago, is much more than a networking app, according to exclusive local distributor Ed Bernstein, co-owner of 25 Score with his wife, Marlene.

The young Silicon Valley startup allows guests at an event who download the app to and then enjoy a ton of features from the event on their phone.

“Socio makes it easy to connect the participants at an event,” Bernstein said, “and it makes the experience much more interactive.”

For the two-day 2017 KHTS Home and Garden Show at Central Park, visitors can download the free Socio app, and then enjoy a calendar of events, check on announcements that are broadcast through the app phone live during the event and even, if the user wants, can easily share contact information with vendors, fellow guests or anyone with whom you choose to network.

The app allows you to enter your information from whichever social media networks the user chooses to share with the app.

For the 2017 Home and Garden Show, using the Socio app will let guests check out a map of the massive four-in-one event so visitors can find exactly what they’re looking for at each of the shows, whether it’s the Emergency Expo, the Arts and Crafts Fair, the Earth/Arbor Day celebration the city is hosting or the KHTS Home and Garden Show.

The great thing about the app, Bernstein said, is that it can be utilized for events big and small, and stores information for the user, with algorithms.

The 8th Annual KHTS Home & Garden Show, Emergency Expo, Earth Day/Arbor Day and KHTS Marketplace/Craft Fair at Central Park on Saturday, April 29th and Sunday April 30th 2017. Four mega shows, one location over one weekend. Admission is free.

Showtimes are Saturday, April  29th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 30th 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Note the Emergency Expo is Saturday only, however many Emergency vendors will also be displaying and selling their products and services on Sunday, as well.
