“After reviewing the DMV surveillance video footage, it appeared the suspect intentionally pepper sprayed a wall inside the DMV,” said Josh Greengard, a spokesman for the Newhall California Highway Patrol Office. “At this time there is still no motive for what happened. It is also unclear if something happened prior in the day or days before that caused this to happen.”

The footage showed a woman, believed to be approximately 50-60 years old, wearing a light blue jean jacket, blue jeans and glasses walking in to the building, spraying the wall and leaving, said Greengard.

“When firefighters arrived on scene they transported one patient that was feeling dizzy,” said Vanessa Lozano, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “Twenty-three other people were evaluated but were not transported.”

The building was ventilated and cleared shortly after, according to fire officials.

No arrests have been made as of Thursday morning, said Greengard.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Officer Greengard at the Newhall California Highway Patrol office at 661-294-5540.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
