A Newhall man was arrested Monday after allegedly threatening his girlfriend with a knife and fleeing the scene before deputies arrived.

Deputies responded around 7 p.m. to a home near Sandy Drive and Fahren court after a reported domestic violence call, said Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. The deputies found the victim, an 18-year-old woman, at the location.
She told deputies that her and her boyfriend, 20-year-old Louie Gonzalez, had gotten into an argument.
Gonzalez allegedly “got enraged at the victim and pointed a knife at (her),” said Miller.

Bail was set at $30,000 for his release. He is set to appear before a judge Jan. 25 for a pretrial hearing at the San Fernando Courthouse.
