One Person Detained In Saugus After Striking Victim With A Shovel

Santa Clarita Sheriff’s deputies detained an assault with a deadly weapon suspect Friday afternoon after the suspect was believed to have hit a person with a shovel on the 19000 block of Laroda Lane in Saugus.

Around 12:15 p.m., deputies received a call where a person who was possibly intoxicated and struck a victim with a shovel, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“One person has been detained,” said Lt. Leo Bauer with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

As of 12:45 p.m. deputies are still investigating what led up to the attack.

However, the victim did refuse any kind of medical aid by paramedics.

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor.
