Deputies received a call around 11 p.m. from a resident on the 27000 block of Sanford Way in Santa Clarita, officials said.

A resident requested Sheriff’s Station deputies’ help in clearing partygoers from his lawn, according to the report.

“(Deputies) were breaking up a large party,” said Lt. Rob Hahnlein of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies suspect while they were inside the home, one of the party-goers threw a rock that smashed the patrol car’s windshield, according to Sheriff’s Station reports.

“When the deputy returned from the home to his car, he found the front windshield had been smashed with a rock,” Hahnlein said.

There’s no further information being released at this time, he added, but the incident is still under investigation.
