Christopher Smithtucker, 27, was arrested for robbery Thursday after holding up the Valencia Logix Credit Union, only to be taken into custody less than 10 minutes later.
The Logix Credit Union on 27000 block of McBean Parkway was allegedly robbed at around 3 p.m. yesterday, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Station.
“The suspect presented a note demanding money,” said Miller. “The bank teller then contacted the sheriff’s station.”
The alleged bank robber has apprehended in the same shopping center of the credit union on the corner of Mcbean Parkway and Magic Mountain Parkway, officials said.
Deputies recovered an undisclosed amount of money, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Smithtucker was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Station on $100,000 bail.
He is expected to appear at the San Fernando Courthouse on July 9.
