Lafon also had an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Rychwalski was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

At approximately 7 p.m., deputies Quintana and Wilson were patrolling in the area of Soledad Canyon Road and Whites Canyon Road in Canyon Country.

The deputies observed what they believed to be a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction. The deputies detained two men in order to conduct further investigation.

The deputies began an investigation and discovered that Jonathon Lafon was in possession of heroin and hydrocodone pills on his person.

Inside the vehicle, deputies found a large ziplock bag containing marijuana and methamphetamine. As the deputies continued their investigation they found a digital scale and numerous empty plastic baggies and hypodermic needles.

During a record check of the vehicle’s license plate, deputies discovered the vehicle Lafon was sitting in was a reported stolen.

A stolen vehicle report was originally taken by the Los Angeles Police Department – North Hollywood Community Police Station.

While the deputies spoke with Rychwalski they saw that he displayed the symptoms of a person who is under the influence of a controlled substance.

After performing field sobriety tests, the deputies arrested Rychwalski.

Both men were transported to and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Lafon is being held in lieu of $96,250 bail. He’s due back in court Nov. 22.
