Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Crime Reports Include Dog Attack, Arrests, Drugs

The crime reports from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station have been released for the week of Aug. 4-11.

This week, several drug arrests were made, thousands of confiscated weapons were destroyed and a woman suspected of mental illness was arrested on kidnapping charges.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies made five drug-related arrests this past week, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

County animal control officials have been unable to identify the two dogs in last week’s attack using their database of licenses, a representative said Tuesday. Santa Clarita Sheriff's Crime Reports Include Dog Attack, Arrests, Drugs

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials took a woman into custody after an hours long standoff situation with an armed woman suspected of having a mental illness in a Castaic mobile home park.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded Thursday to a report of a man found in a warehouse bathroom at the Valencia Industrial Center around 11:25 a.m., officials said Thursday. The investigation is ongoing.

More than 4,661 weapons confiscated from criminals in Los Angeles County were collected by the “Gifts for Guns” exchange program and destroyed on Wednesday.

A Lancaster man and church employee suspected of molesting two children is due in court Friday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials announced.

Crime Reports

Here are the crime reports for Canyon Country East, Canyon Country West, Castaic/ Val Verde, Newhall, Saugus, Stevenson Ranch and Valencia.

Canyon Country East

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 29000 block of Hidden Oak Place. It is unknown how the suspect(s) made entry into the vehicle due to there not being any signs of forced entry or damage. The victim in this incident saw two male suspects in his vehicle so he chased them for 2 blocks until he lost sight of them.

A bicycle was stolen from a front porch at near the 17800 block Chelsea Way. A boys white “Commander” bicycle was stolen during night time hours.

Canyon Country West

An assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the 19300 block of Soledad Canyon Road. A suspect rammed her vehicle into the victims vehicle after a heated argument. The suspect was arrested shortly after the altercation. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A commercial burglary occurred near the 21400 block of Centre Pointe Parkway. An unknown number of suspects entered the location and stole numerous different pieces of landscaping equipment. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Two suspects were witnessed stealing used cooking oil from a local fast food chain. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Castaic/ Val Verde

A residential burglary occurred from the 31000 block of Lake Hills Drive. Three Newhall residents were arrested with numerous stolen items in their vehicle. The items were identified by a resident who had just reported their house broken into.

A residential burglary was reported from 29000 block of Chelsea Street. Selected items were taken from boxes inside the garage. The resident believes the previous tenant took the items because there were no signs of forced entry and he still has a key to the garage.

A residential burglary was reported from 31000 block of Cinnabar Lane. The victim reported his garage door kicked in while he was on vacation. No items from inside were reported missing.

A residential burglary was reported from 30000 Cedar Oak Lane. The victim believes their daughter’s ex-boyfriend stole several items of jewelry and personal items from the master bedroom closet. The items were reported taken between 02-28-14 and 04-11-14.

An L.A. resident was arrested for carjacking a semi-truck in front the gas station in Castaic. The man knew the owner of the company and was trying to delay his shipment in an effort to cost him money Santa Clarita Sheriff's Crime Reports Include Dog Attack, Arrests, Drugsand grief.

A theft was reported from the 28000 block of Greenwood Place. A man left furniture at his old residence with an agreement to return and collect the items at a later date. While in Florida, the house was sold and the items were removed. The victim was not told of the sale and does not know where his furniture was taken.

An aggravated assault was reported from the 30000 block of San Martinez. The victim was hit by his own vehicle while attempting to keep his wife from leaving to a party. The victim said his wife and sister-in-law had been drinking and he didn’t want them to drive.

Newhall

Wednesday the 6th at 3:30 p.m., a burglary occurred in the 24400 block of Leonard Tree. The victim saw the suspect and confronted him. The suspect fled the area before he was able to steal anything.

A burglary occurred Monday the 4th between 6:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m., in the 23400 block of Thornewood Drive. A neighbor saw a possible suspect leaving the house, but thought the person was working for the resident. The suspect entered the residence through a rear window and made off with several items from inside.

A business was burglarized overnight on Wednesday the 6th. The suspect shattered a front door window and took a laptop.

Friday night the 8th a 2006 Ford F-150 truck was stolen from the 24900 block of Walnut Street. The truck was recovered nearby the next day.

A lady’s purse was taken from her vehicle Saturday the 9th in the 24100 block of Lyons Avenue. While the victim was distracted putting her daughter into a carseat when a female grabbed her purse and fled in a red Toyota driven by an unknown Male.

Saugus

There was a residential burglary in the 24000 block of Copper Hill Drive between July 30th through August 5th. The victim discovered someone had stolen over $7000 worth of electrical equipment from her garage. Detectives are searching for the stolen merchandise.

Santa Clarita Sheriff's Crime Reports Include Dog Attack, Arrests, DrugsA strong arm robbery was reported in the 28100 block of Bouquet Canyon Road on August 10th. The victim was assaulted after being involved in a traffic collision with the suspects. During the assault one of the suspects stole the victim’s phone. Deputies quickly responded and located both suspects. They were both taken into custody without incident.

A vehicle was reported stolen in the 25600 block of Springbrook Avenue between August 2nd and August 9th. The victim’s motorcycle was stolen from a storage lot at the location. Deputies are attempting to locate the motorcycle.

Stevenson Ranch

An aggravated assault occurred near the 26000 block of Thackery Lane. The suspect attacked family members after a heated argument. The suspect was arrested by responding Santa Clarita Valley Station deputies.

A residential burglary occurred near the 24900 block of Chicory Court. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence and took a laptop computer. There were no signs of forced entry and the victim was uncertain if the front door was locked at the time of the incident.

There were five incidents of shoplifting in the Stevenson Ranch Area. These incidents resulted in the arrest of four suspects.
A petty theft occurred near the 24800 block of Pico Canyon Road. An unknown suspect took a purse from the front passenger seat of the victim’s vehicle.

A 2001 Ford Expedition was taken from the 26200 block of Reade Place. The vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway.

Valencia

A robbery occurred near the intersection of Valencia Boulevard and Creekside Drive. A male suspect threatened to hurt the victim by force if he did not give him his bicycle. The victim relinquished his bicycle in fear the suspect would harm him. The suspect made off with the victim’s gray bike with red hand grips.

A burglary occurred near the 27100 block of McBean Parkway. An unknown male suspect cut off a padlock, to a gate and stole two high dollar electronic devices from the location.

An embezzlement theft occurred near the 24200 block of Valencia Boulevard. An employee at the location had been depriving the store owner of accurate cash deposits nightly. This case is currently under active investigation by our Detective Bureau.

A vehicle theft occurred near the 26100 block of Rockwell Canyon Road. An unknown suspect stole a 2014 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck, white in color California license #74638L1. This vehicle is still outstanding.

A grand theft occurred near the 28500 block of Westinghouse Place. The victim left two high end bicycles locked in the bed of his truck overnight. He had the bicycles secured with three chains and locks. The following morning the victim walked out to his vehicle and observed his two bicycles from the bed of his truck were gone.

A few petty thefts occurred in the Valencia area. In each case the victim’s left their items unsecured. In each case the suspect(s) noticed the victim was vulnerable, and saw a moment to prey upon the victim’s. Each victim had an electronic device stolen from their property.

A bicycle theft occurred from the 26400 block of Rockwell Canyon Road. An unknown suspect stole the victim’s bike parked near the bike rack. The bicycle was not secured.

Two suspects were arrested by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station for shoplifting during this time frame. In each case deputies were able to recover the stolen items from the suspects and return it to the stores.

A theft occurred near the 24700 block of Riverchase Drive. An unknown suspect stole a tool bag from the bed of the victim’s truck. The victim left the items inside his truck bed overnight. The following morning the victim was leaving for work when he realized his tools for work were missing.
