Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Deputies Release Crime Reports, West Ranch High School Student Arrested

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies have released the crime reports for the week of April 18 through April 24.

A Newhall couple charged earlier this month with sexually abusing several children is now facing additional charges, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office officials announced Friday.

A student was arrested during an investigation by detectives with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station into an attack on a special education student at West Ranch High School after it was caught on video by a bystander and posted on social media.

A Canyon Country resident who allegedly committed a residential burglary in Rancho Palos Verdes has been captured after the public provided tips to detectives seeking to locate him.

A convicted sex offender and former Valencia lawyer appeared in court in Burbank on Monday after being extradited from Mexico last week, according to officials from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Canyon Country East

Petty Theft – 27900 block of Solamint Road. An unknown person entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole his “Ray Ban” sunglasses, reading glasses and gate card opener.

Vehicle Burglary – 27900 block of Solamint Road. An unknown person entered the victim’s locked vehicle and stole a child’s car seat, backpack and fanny pack.

Vehicle Burglary – Jakes Way/Eleanor Circle. An unknown person smashed the passenger side front window of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect stole an “Ipad”, blue backpack, stethoscope and blood pressure cup.

GTA – 14300 block of Soledad Canyon Road. An unknown person stole the victim’s semi-truck from the location.

Burglary – 27900 block of Tyler Lane. An unknown person entered the victim’s locked garage.  The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a radio, amplifier, shoes and a car seat.

Burglary – 18000 block of Sundowner Way. An unknown person entered the victim’s garage and stole a drum set.

Vehicle Burglary – Jakes Way/Eleanor Circle. An unknown person smashed the passenger side rear window of the victim’s vehicle and stole several items.

GTA – 18400 block of Jakes Way. An unknown person stole the vehicle white it was parked at the location. The suspect crashed it a short time later and was arrested.

04/17/16

Residential Burglary- 28200 block of Canyon Crest Drive

Person(s) unknown forced open a window on the rear of the victim’s residence and made entry.  While inside, person(s) unknown stole cash and jewelry from within.

04/22/16

Commercial Burglary- 18600 block of Via Princessa

Person(s) unknown forced open a roll up door to the business and stole approximately $200,000 worth of jewelry from within.

Grand Theft Auto- 19200 block of Soledad Canyon Road

Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle which was parked near the above location.  On 04/23/16, the victim’s vehicle was located near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Camp Plenty Road.

4/20/16

Theft- 27000 block of West Pine Crest Place. A delivered mail package was taken from the front porch of the victim’s home. The crime occurred at 2:30 p.m.     

4/21/16

Theft- 31000 block of The Old Road.  A backpack containing miscellaneous personal items was stolen from inside the victim’s  vehicle.  The driver’s side door had signs of forced entry. The crime occurred between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

04/15/16

Burglary – 27400 block of Dogwood Court. Person(s) unknown entered the unlocked garage of the location and stole a tankless water heater which was attached to the wall.  

Burglary – 26200 block of Valencia Boulevard. Person(s) unknown stole a television and two electronic scales from the location.  The informant stated that the room was locked.  There were no signs of forced entry

04/17/16

Grand Theft Auto – 25300 block of The Old Rd. Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s dirt bike which was stored at the location. The dirt bike was found at the corner of Fountain Glen and Constitution Dr.

04/20/16

Attempt Grand Theft Auto – 26300 block of The Old Road. Person(s) unknown attempted to steal the victim’s vehicle by drilling out the door lock and ignition.

04/23/16

Theft of Mail – 26800 block of Marlowe Court. The victim stated she checked her mailbox and found multiple letters from addresses on her street that were not her own.  The letters had been opened. She also noticed that her mail had been opened.

04/18/16

Grand Theft-26300 block of Woodlark Lane.  When the victim returned home, his house was ransacked and damaged. U.S. currency and jewelry reported as missing.

Grand Theft-24200 block of Creekside Road.  The victim went to a local car wash to get her car washed, and placed $1,700 dollars in U.S. currency under the floor mat.  After her carwash was completed, the cash was missing.

Petty Theft-26900 block of Theatre Drive.  While at the location, the victim left his bike secured to a bike rack.  When he returned hours later, the bike was gone.

04/19/16

Grand Theft- 25300 block of Rye Canyon Road.  A multi-functional exercise system was stolen from the location.

04/20/16

Petty Theft- 24200 block of Magic Mountain Parkway.  A male suspect was arrested from the location for exiting the store with numerous unpaid items in his possession.

Petty Theft- 24400 block of Town Center Drive.  While the victim was inside the location, he left his bike unlocked . When he returned, his bike was gone.

Petty Theft- 26500 block of Bouquet Canyon Road.  While shopping at the location, the victim was placing items inside her cart, and turned away from her cart.  When she turned back around her purse was gone.  Shortly after, persons (unknown) used the victim’s credit cards to make a purchase at a business.

04/22/16

Theft from unlocked vehicle-25300 block of Via Ramon.  An unknown person made entry into the victim’s unlocked car and stole an iPod Nano.

Grand Theft/Vandalism-25300 block of Magic Mountain Parkway.  An unknown person stole a solar panel and the pole used to hold up the panel.  

04/23/16

Burglary-24600 block of Cordera Court.  An unknown person entered the victim’s vehicle and stole baby items from inside the car.

Petty Theft-23300 block of Cinema Drive.  The victim was eating his lunch on the patio area of restaurant and left his iPhone on the table after he was finished.  He returned home and realized his phone was at the restaurant.  He called immediately and was told no one turned in his phone.

Petty Theft-24200 block of Valencia Boulevard.  While assisting customers at the store, the victim left her phone on the work counter.  When she returned 5 minutes later her phone was gone.

Petty Theft-26500 block of Bouquet Canyon Road.  While at the location, the victim was trying to buy a new phone.  He was being assisted by an employee and they both went to go look at new phones and left his phone on the counter.  When he returned, his cell phone was gone.

04/24/16

Grand Theft Auto- 23200 Block of Barnacle Lane.  A Chevy Suburban was stolen from the location.
