A cab driver accused of killing a Valencia man in a hit-and-run crash New Year’s Day waived his preliminary hearing Monday, officials said.

Here are the crime reports for Canyon Country East, Canyon Country West, Castaic/ Val Verde, Newhall, Saugus, Stevenson Ranch and Valencia.

Canyon Country East Crime

A robbery occurred near the 18400 block of Soledad Cyn Rd., Canyon Country.  The victim and his former friend got into an altercation in the rear of the location.  The suspect struck the victim in the head and took his property.  The suspect was arrested and booked for the indicated charges.

A grand theft occurred near the 28000 block of Winterdale Dr., Canyon Country.  The suspect unknown entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole numerous items.  This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A grand theft occurred near the 18000 block of Jakes Way, Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A grand theft occurred near the 27500 block of Sierra Hwy., Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies have released the crime reports for the week of May 11-17.A grand theft occurred near the 14300 block of Soledad Cyn Rd., Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s tractor trailer. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A petty theft occurred at a business near the 18600 block of Via Princessa, Canyon Country.  Suspect concealed store items and attempted to leave the location without paying.  The suspect was arrested for the indicated charge.

A petty theft occurred near the 18100 block of Erik Ct., Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s package from his front door step. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A petty theft occurred at a business near the 18600 Via Princessa, Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) concealed store items and attempted to leave the location without paying. The suspect was arrested for the indicated charge.

A burglary occurred near the 15800 block of Beaver Run Rd., Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) unknown entered the victim’s residence and stole numerous items. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A burglary occurred near the 26400 block of Golden Valley Rd., Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s vehicle and stole numerous items. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

An attempt burglary occurred at a business near the 17000 block of Sierra Hwy., Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) unknown attempted to force entry into the location. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A domestic violence incident occurred near the 29700 block of Grandifloras Rd., Canyon Country.  The suspect was arrested for the indicated charge. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

Canyon Country West Crime

An aggravated assault occurred near the 19300 block of Nadal Street. Two high school students were arrested after a short physical altercation. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A residential burglary occurred near the 27300 block of Sierra Highway. Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s residence while the victim was sleeping on the couch and stole cash from his wallet.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A residential burglary occurred near the 26700 block of Flo Lane. Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s garage and stole his bicycle from within. A vehicle burglary occurred near the 20300 block of gray Lane. Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s vehicle by means unknown and stole her iPod from within. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A petty theft occurred near the 16900 block of Solana Lane. Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s cord of wood from his front porch. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Castaic/ Val Verde Crime

An assault with a deadly weapon was reported from the 28000 block of Hasley Canyon. A road rage incident led to a physical altercation. Two parties were arrested for assaulting the victim with a metal pipe. The victim did not sustain any serious wounds, however, while attempting to hit the victim with the pipe, suspect one missed and hit suspect two.

A theft from a vehicle was reported from the 27000 block of Betina Court. Electronic items were stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in the victim’s driveway. The crime occurred in the early morning hours on 5-16-15.

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 31000 block of Hipshot Drive. The grey 2007 Ford Focus, California license number 5ZWH612, was taken in the early morning hours of 5-17-15.  The vehicle was parked on the street in front of the location when the crime occurred.

A vehicle reported stolen from the 27000 block of Betina Court was recovered in the intersection of Chiquito Canyon and Huntstock Drive. The driver was arrested and stolen items were discovered inside the vehicle.  The handling deputy and on scene detectives identified the rightful owners and the items were returned to their owners.

Newhall Crime

On Tuesday the 11th at 2:02 a.m., testing equipment was stolen from an unlocked toolbox in a truck in the 24800 block of Fourl Road.

On Monday the 11th at 4:00 p.m., three males took property from a business in the 23500 block of Lyons Avenue.  The males worked together to distract the owner then fled in a silver “Mercedes”.

On Friday the 15th at 2:11 p.m., 21 bottles of alcohol were stolen from a business in the 24800 block of Orchard Village.  According to the informant, two suspects loaded the bottles into a shopping cart and fled the location.

There were four arrests in the Newhall area last week.  An adult female was arrested for forging checks, and was later linked to additional crimes.  Two adult males were arrested, one for domestic violence, the other for possession of stolen property.  There was also a 15 year old who was arrested for a narcotic charge.

Saugus Crime

A residential burglary was reported from the 22800 block of Tamarack Lane. The suspect was able to enter the house through the unlocked side garage door. Once inside the garage the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole an iPad, MacBook and a leather briefcase.  The items were later found abandoned on a street near the location.

Stevenson Ranch Crime

Vehicle Burglary

A vehicle burglary occurred on the 24800 block of Greensbrier Dr.  An unknown person(s) entered the victim’s vehicle and took a Ipod audio cable and a pair of sunglasses..  The victim stated that the vehicle was locked.

Shoplifting

A shoplifting occurred on the 25450 block of The Old Rd.  A female adult attempted to leave the location with several items she did not pay for.  She was arrested for petty theft.

A shoplifting occurred on the 25450 block of The Old Rd.  A male adult attempted to leave the location with several items he did not pay for.  When contacted by loss prevention, the suspect abandoned the items and left the location.

A shoplifting occurred on the 25800 block of The Old Rd.  A male adult took three cases of liquor and exited the store without paying for the items.  The suspect left the location, and no arrest was made.

Grand Theft (Auto)

A vehicle was stolen from the 25800 block of The Old Rd.  An unknown person(s) stole the victim’s vehicle which was parked in the parking lot of the location.

Valencia Crime

A grand theft occurred near the 24400 block of Magic Mountain Parkway.  A female suspect was arrested from the location for stealing numerous items from inside the location and trying to exit the store without paying for them.   The suspect was arrested by responding patrol deputies.

A burglary occurred near the 24400 block of Town Center Drive.  Suspect’s unknown forced entry into the location and damaged some tiles and tried to force open the office door. The suspect’s was unable to take anything of value.  This case is currently under active investigation by our station detective bureau.

A second burglary occurred near the 25300 block of Tourney Road.  Three suspects, all wearing hoodies, smashed the front door to the location.  All 3 suspects entered the location and stole numerous electronic items from inside the store.  The suspects were seen on security footage pushing a large safe out of the location through the front doors.

A bicycle theft occurred near the 24000 block of Pasala Court.  Suspects unknown entered the victim’s garage and stole his bicycle.  The victim stated when he went to sleep for the night he made sure he locked his garage door.  The victim stated someone opened his garage during the night.  When he woke up his garage was open.

A residential burglary occurred near the 26100 block of Las Lanas Court.  While the victim was always an unknown suspect broke into their home and stole numerous items from inside her home.  The suspects gain entry into the location by sliding rear window which was left open.  No forced entry was made into the location.

A theft from a vehicle occurred near the 27900 block of Kelly Johnson Parkway.  The victim parked her car in the parking lot of the location.  She left a window partially down and entered the location to shop.  When she returned hours later she noticed her purse was missing from inside her car and the door was now unlocked.

A theft from a store occurred near the 27000 block of McBean Parkway.  A female suspect was arrested from the location for running out of the store with her arms full of baked goods.  While attempting to detain the suspect became resistive and kicked a deputy and tried to avoid arrest.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 26500 block of Strambino Court.  The victim awoke to the sound of her car alarm going off.  She ran outside and saw a vehicle speeding away from her home.  The unknown suspect shattered the window to her vehicle and stole two diaper bags.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 27500 block of Wayne Mills Road.  While the vehicle was parked at the location overnight an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole numerous items from inside the car.
