A man, described as hispanic and possibly Filipino, entered a T-Mobile store located in the 25800 block of The Old Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. and attempted to cut a pair of headphones using a box cutter, said Lt. Derek Sabatini with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

When an employee approached the suspect, he brandished a firearm and stole the employee’s cell phone, said Sabatini.

The suspect fled the scene from a vehicle and is still at large, Sabatini said.

Deputies were dispatched to the Supercuts Hair Salon approximately one hour later to a report of a robbery.

A man, described as a black juvenile, paid for his haircut at the salon, then when the sylist was counting his change, the suspect forcibly took the money, as well as approximately $100 from the cash register, said Sabatini.

The suspect of the robbery on McBean Parkway is known and is a regular customer of the salon, Sabatini said. The man’s family is being cooperative.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station have no located the two suspects as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, said Sabatini.
