Nelly Babinski-Dhont, 50, turned herself into deputies at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station after a warrant was issued for her arrest, according to Joshua Greengard, public information officer for California Highway Patrol’s Newhall area office.

The vehicle Babinski-Dhont was driving allegedly struck motorcyclist Leo Castillo at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road in Canyon Country on June 17, 2015.

“The motorcyclist was stationary and she ran into the motorcycle,” said Greengard. “The rider was pronounced (dead) at the scene.”

In a Facebook post at the time, an Agua Dulce resident claimed the woman struck and killed a man on a motorcycle who was making a legal left-hand turn. She also said the woman then collided head-on with her boyfriend’s truck.

In addition, she alleged the woman (Babinski-Dhont) ran a red light.

“(Babinski-Dhont) was the party at fault,” said Greengard.

  1. Why did it take almost a year for the warrant to be issued?

  2. Wasn’t this the accident that happened at Sierra//Sand Canyon, not Soledad? I live at this intersection and remember that day very well.

  3. Yes, a lot of this information is not correct!
