Deputies received the report about 11:40 a.m., said Shirley Miller, press information officer for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“It was reported that a male juvenile raced a dirt bike through the campus of Hart High,” Miller said, “he was racing through a sea of kids.”
There is no suspect in custody at this time, officials said. However, a video has surfaced on Twitter that appears to show a young man riding a dirt bike through campus.
Deputies are investigating to determine if the video, posted by HartonMotorSports on Twitter, is the suspect they are seeking.
The Hart district released the following statement in response to “senior pranks,” and other on-campus incidents:
“In no way does the Hart School District condone anything that could result in injury or property damage. This includes ‘pranks.’ Our staff takes every step possible to thwart pranks and, if one does occur, will hold those involved accountable. We also want to remind students that whenever a small group imagines a “harmless little prank,” unintended consequences often happen.
Senior pranks sometimes get out of hand and cost the district valuable resources. If anyone, student, staff or family member, hears of a possible student prank, please notify school administration.
We ask parents of seniors to please take a few minutes and speak to your student about the importance of continuing to make good decisions down the final stretch. In particular, please encourage your seniors to not risk their ability to walk at graduation by organizing or participating in a senior prank that is offensive or results in damage to the school.”
Well..what an idiotic thing to do. My son attends Hart and thank goodness he and no one else got hurt. I hope the kid is held accountable for putting others at risk.
