Several Detained After Containment For Tool Theft

Deputies quickly located a suspect who allegedly stole tools from a truck in Canyon Country after the victim saw the suspect walking nearby while making a statement about the missing tools.

While a deputy was taking a report about the missing tools, the victim identified a man walking nearby as the suspect, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials said. The victim reportedly told the deputy he had seen the tools in a vehicle near the suspect’s location. 

The man ran into a nearby house, and refused to come out when prompted by deputies.

It is unknown how many people are in the house, which is being contained by deputies as of 2 p.m.

A KHTS reporter at the scene reported at least four people being taken into custody.
