Several people were detained at a house in Val Verde in relation to a drive-by shooting that occurred earlier on Saturday night, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.

“There was a shooting,” said Lt. Wainie. “Several people have been detained. We’re trying to determine if they are suspects right now.”
Sheriff’s officers converged on a house near the 30000 block of San Martinez Road, said Lt. Rob Hahnlein. There were family members inside the house and deputies had to clear the building to ensure safety.
Investigators believe the shooting is potentially gang related.
“Two victims went to Henry Mayo and were treated,” said Hahnlein. “Both are expected to survive.”
