Santa Clarita Valley Detectives Nab 7 Suspects In Bike Path Robberies

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials have arrested a seventh and final suspect in connection with a series of armed robberies, officials said Tuesday. Raymond Gatica, 21, of Canyon Country, was arrested in June in connection with three reports of armed robberies committed in May. Pedro Palacios, 19, of Canyon Country, was arrested in July. The last suspect, a juvenile, was arrested over Labor Day weekend, according to Sheriff's Station officials.

DUI Checkpoint In Saugus Leads To Three Arrests

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are hosting a driver’s license/DUI checkpoint Friday, officials said.

Three people were arrested Friday during a DUI checkpoint conducted by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies on Bouquet Canyon Road near Wellston Drive, authorities said. Santa Clarita Valley Detectives Investigate Assault As Possible Hate Crime

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives are investigating a reported assault Thursday they suspect might be a hate crime that took place outside a Valencia restaurant. The victim reported to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials he was attacked in the parking lot of The Alamo restaurant on the 25900 block of McBean Parkway, according to Sheriff’s Station reports. “We’re investigating this as a possible racially motivated assault -- a possible hate crime,” said Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
