Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies have released the crime reports for the week of Nov. 17-23.

Two men were ordered to pay a total of $23,531.71 in restitution for a high-speed crash in Canyon Country that killed Dakota Demott.

Crime Reports

KHTS publishes crime reports in alphabetical order by community as they are made available.

Here are the crime reports for Canyon Country East, Canyon Country West, Castaic/ Val Verde, Saugus, Stevenson Ranch and Valencia.

Canyon Country East

A residential burglary was reported near the 16700 block of Bainbury Street. The suspect rang the doorbell of the location.  A few moments later the suspect entered the rear of the victim’s Santa Clarita Valley Deputies Offer Caution On Heat-Related Crimeshome through the kitchen door. The victim saw the suspect in her home and yelled at him.  The suspect then fled the location.  A few minutes later the suspect attempted to break into another house on Shindale a few blocks away. An alert resident saw this suspect attempting to gain entry into the house and called 911.  Deputies were close by and saw the suspect in the back yard of the home.  The suspect fled towards Sand Canyon Road.  A containment was established in the neighborhood where the suspect was caught.  He was arrested and booked at Santa Clarita Station Jail for “Hot Prowl” burglary.

There was a shoplifting from Kohls reported on 11-19-14. The suspect stole several items and was later arrested.

A vehicle burglary was reported at Jakes Way/Eleanor Circle. The suspect shattered the rear passenger window of the victim’s truck. The suspect stole a Hilti Hammer drill and a Milwaukee drill.

A petty theft occurred near the 27600 block of Solamint Road. The victim sent money online to get a puppy.  The puppy never came. The victim believed this to be a scam.

A shop lift burglary was reported on 11/17/14 at the Kohls on Golden Valley Road. The suspect filled a shopping bag full of socks, shoes and headphones.  He then fled the location.

A vehicle burglary occurred at Jakes Way and Sandy Drive.  The suspect shattered rear passenger window of the victim’s vehicle.  The victim was unsure if anything was missing.

Canyon Country West

An aggravated assault occurred near the intersection of Stillmore Street and Camp Plenty Road.  While the victim was waiting for him mother to pick him up after a party, two suspects approached him with a golf club and assaulted him.  The victim sustained minor injuries.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A grand theft auto occurred near the 18800 block of Via Princessa.  Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle which was parked in a nearby parking lot.   This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 19000 block of Vicci Street.  Person(s) unknown pried open the victims rear storage box to his truck and stole items from within.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A petty theft occurred near the 27200 block of Lakehurst Avenue.  Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s bicycle which was left parked in the front of his residence.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A shoplifting occurred near the 26900 block of Sierra Highway.  One suspect was arrested after he was caught concealing store items by Loss Prevention.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Castaic/ Val Verde

A theft was reported from the 28000 block of Harrison Parkway.  The business reported $305 worth of metal and miscellaneous items stolen from an outdoor storage unit that was left unlocked.  Patrons in the area, at the time of the theft, provided the responding deputies with a description of the suspect and his vehicle license plate.

A theft was reported from the intersection of Castaic Lake Road and Lake Hughes Road. During a child custody dispute, a man took his ex-wife’s cell phone.

'Cowboy Gun Bandits' Suspected Of 8 Robberies, Including SCV LocationsParks Bureau is handling a reported burglary from the 32000 block of Castaic Lake Road.  A suspect was taken into custody by responding deputies.

Parks Bureau is handling a reported theft from the 30000 block of Arlington Road.

Saugus

There was an attempt robbery reported on Castille Lane on November 20th.  Four males demanded money from the juvenile victim while he was walking home.  He was assaulted when he said no.  The victim was able to flee the location.  Detectives are actively searching for the suspects.

An arrest was made of a residential burglar in the 28000 block of Ellis Court on November 18th.  The victim saw a male in his residence through his security video.  Deputies responded to the location and took the suspect into custody without incident.

Two thefts from vehicles were reported in the 22100 block of Soledad Canyon Road over the past week.  The first theft occurred on November 19th.  The victim discovered his tailgate was stolen off his vehicle sometime during the day.  The second occurred on November 20th.  The victim discovered multiple tools were stolen from his vehicle while he was gone for the day.  Detectives are checking if these thefts were related.

A petty theft was reported in the 27900 block of Seco Canyon Road on November 18th.  The victim set her purse down in the employee area at her place of business.  She returned to where she left her purse and discovered multiple items missing.  Detectives are checking for security video.

We had a shoplift theft reported in the 27600 block of Bouquet Canyon Road on November 19th.  A male entered the business and took two juices from the shelf.  He past several manned registers without making any attempt to pay for the items.  Detectives are attempting to identify the suspect.

Stevenson Ranch

Two residential burglaries occurred. No signs of forced entry in either incident. Residents were not home at the time of the loss. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station Detectives.

A shoplifting occurred from a business on The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch. The suspect was arrested for the theft. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives.

Valencia

An assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the 23000 block of Conde Drive.  The suspect was arrested by patrol deputies for smashing a jar over the victim’s head because he was making too much noise.   The suspect was booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for the indicated charge.

Another assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the 24100 block of Valencia Boulevard.   Suspect(s) unknown struck the victim with his car as he was walking in the parking lot near the location, causing him to fall over and land on the ground.  The victim complained of pain to his legs, but was not taken to the hospital by ambulance.  The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction.  No arrest was made during this incident.

Three residential burglaries occurred near the area of McBean Parkway and North Park Drive.  After receiving numerous calls at the station, patrol deputies responded to the location and quickly set up containment.  Deputies were able to effectively search the area and discovered a female Hispanic adult inside a residence. She was arrested by patrol deputies and admitted to three other burglaries in the area.

A commercial burglary occurred near the 26400 block of Bouquet Canyon Road.  A male black adult walked into the location and stole two iPhones 6 from a display inside the location.  The suspect fled the location on foot and out of view.

During this past week we had four incidents of shoplifting occur at local businesses.   Two out of the four incidents resulted in suspects being arrested.
