Sheriff’s Deputies Release Crime Reports, Investigating A Series Of Thefts

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies have released the crime reports for the week of Jan. 25 through Jan. 31.

A suspect wanted for attempted sexual assault was arrested by deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

RV owners in Santa Clarita have been the target of a recent series of thefts in multiple storage facilities across the Santa Clarita Valley.

An 11-year-old McGrath Elementary School student who was arrested on Monday morning after he allegedly brought a knife to the school earlier in the week and made an “unspecified threat” over social media remains in custody and is facing multiple charges.

Crime Reports

KHTS publishes crime reports in alphabetical order by community as they are made available.

Here are the crime reports for Castaic/Val Verde, Newhall, Saugus, and Stevenson Ranch.

Castaic/Val Verde

A commercial burglary was reported from the 31000 block of Castaic Road.  The business reported a front window to the location was shattered and their office appeared to have been rummaged through.  It was unknown at the time of the report what was stolen.   

A commercial burglary was reported from the 28000 block of Hasley Canyon Road. An exterior electrical room was broken into and the electrical and internet wires were cut.  

Newhall

Vehicle burglaries occurred near the 21300 block of Trumpet Dr. and the 24400 block of Valle Del Oro. Suspect(s) unknown shattered rear side windows on both vehicles. Items taken included misc. clothing, a laptop and tools.

Residential burglaries occurred near the 24100 block of Matthew Pl., the 24400 block of Leonard Tree Ln., and the 24500 block of Acorn Ct.  Suspect(s) unknown entered one residence by prying open a window, another through unknown means (no signs of forced entry) and one residence was unlocked. Items taken included a laptop, jewelry and handbags.

A commercial burglary occurred at a business near the 23100 block of Lyons Ave. Suspect(s) unknown shattered the front glass window. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

A theft occurred near the 21200 block of Trumpet Dr. Suspect(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s storage unit and stole items.

A grand theft occurred near the 22900 block of Sierra Hwy. Suspect(s) unknown entered onto the victim’s property and stole diesel fuel from storage tanks and vehicles.

A grand theft occurred near Valle Del Oro/Alder Dr. Suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s black Infiniti SUV while parked at the location.

A petty theft occurred at a business near the 23700 block of Newhall Ave. The suspect entered the location, selected food items and consumed them prior to paying.  He was arrested by responding deputies.

An assault occurred near the 21500 block of Deputy Jake Dr. A juvenile was arrested after threatening fellow students.

Saugus 

A grand theft auto was reported near the 28700 block of Bouquet Canyon   Road. In this incident a suspect stole the victim’s 2012 Ford F150 pickup truck. The vehicle was later located in Fresno, CA.

Stevenson Ranch

Grand theft auto -25500 block of The Old Rd.  Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s black Mercedes coupe which was parked in the parking lot at the location.

Petty theft- 24900 block of Pico Canyon Rd. Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s gym bag containing his clothes and car keys. The gym bag was left unattended in an unlocked locker at the location.

Burglary- 25200 block of The Old Rd. Deputies responded to an audible alarm at the location. Upon arrival, they noticed that the rear door lock had been cut, and that the door was open. No one was inside the location. The business reported that $550.00 was taken from a cash register, along with several items of merchandise.
