The initial call went out as “shots fired” outside the Hobby Lobby arts and crafts store in Valencia, according to Sheriff’s Station reports.

Deputies responded quickly to the report at the arts and crafts store on Bouquet Canyon Road, after an alleged shoplifter fought with the store manager.

The theft suspect physically engaged the store manager as he was trying to escape the store and the parking lot, officials said. While the manager was trying to stop the theft, a woman drove up in a van and fired three shots from a paintball gun at the store, deputies said

No one was hurt by the paintball rounds, and the woman was not identified.

Deputies are seeking the identity of the “shooter” based on witness reports regarding the van and driver.

Deputies recovered about $300 in stolen goods, according to officials.

The 30-year-old male shoplifting suspect whose identity is not immediately available is being booked on a felony robbery charge because he fought with the store manager, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

  1. Only in a report like this would a paintball gun be of any matter. A weapon was fired, the police responded. It really comes across like disappointment that there was no body count.

  2. Stop whining Jeff, you are always so negative and trying to bash everyone. Can’t you be friendly for once in your life ??
