Carlo Romo, 19, was charged with a felony for assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in a negligent manner on the 28900 block of Paradise Road, after a homeowner complained about noise levels at a gathering in a nearby home, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Sgt. Maurizi.

Romo allegedly fired one shot into the air and pointed the gun at someone after a fistfight broke out at around 9:30 p.m., said Maurizi.

Deputies arrived to the scene around five minutes later, said Maurizi.

One person had a minor laceration to the head after the alleged fight and no injuries were documented as a result of the gunshot, Maurizi said.

Four other individuals were arrested for battery during the altercation, Maurizi said.

Romo was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and is being held on $50,000 bail, according to arrest records.
