Around 6:45 p.m. deputies located an allegedly stolen vehicle in the Walmart Supercenter located on Carl Boyer Drive, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

When deputies searched the vehicle they found multiple credit cards which did not belong to either of the suspects, as well as drug paraphernalia, Miller said.

Janell Brown, 38, from Burbank, was charged with felony possession of a vehicle without the owner’s consent, felony possession of stolen credit cards and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Armando Chaidez, 39, of Los Angeles, was charged with one felony count of being in possession of stolen credit cards and one misdemeanor count of being in possession of drug paraphernalia.

The vehicle that was in the possession of Brown is reportedly a rental car, and detectives are still currently investigating whether she will be charged with being in possession of a vehicle without the owner’s consent or embezzlement, which are both felonies, according to Miller.

Deputies also found three dogs in the car that are now with Animal Care and Control. Neither Brown nor Chaidez were charged with any type of animal abuse charges.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station where they were booked.

Brown is being held in lieu of $45,250 bail. Chaidez is being held in lieu of $20,250 bail.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
