UPDATE 6:10 p.m. — The incident began when an alleged shoplifter at a business on Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road is believed to have made threats and claimed that “he had a gun,” according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

Two individuals were taken into custody, one male and one female. Both were taken into custody at gunpoint, but were apprehended in separate locations, according to Sheriff’s officials.

The male trespassed in multiple properties in Canyon Country, and is believed to have broken a resident’s window while fleeing from law enforcement officials.

During the initial stages of the pursuit, authorities had called in additional Sheriff’s vehicles — including L.A. County’s helicopter unit — in order to find the suspected vehicle involved in the incident, which was a white Mercedes.

In order to prevent the suspects being able to elude arrest, law enforcement established a blockade on Kenroy Av. early Monday night.

UPDATE 5:45 p.m. —  At approximately 5 p.m., a suspect in Canyon Country fled from deputies on foot with what deputies believe was a possible firearm.

The pursuit ended at a home near the Soledad Canyon Rd. and Sand Canyon Rd. intersection in Canyon Country.

Witnesses on scene reported seeing officials with Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), the tactical unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, leading up to the apprehension of the suspect.
