Homeless Man Found Dead In Santa Clara Riverbed Identified

A man found dead in the bed of the Santa Clara River on Sunday has been identified as a transient by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Officials identified 44-year-old Andrew Aaron Vetromile as the man found shortly before noon near Camp Plenty Road. Officials believe he was homeless.

A cause of death has not been released pending an autopsy, according to Assistant Capt. Ed Winter with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

“An autopsy is pending,” Winter said.

Officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are not investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, and do not believe there was any foul play involved.

  1. Sorry for the family. sad as it is I do not feel safe with them sleeping in the bus stops that or Santa Clarita youth has to ride around town. Is it for attention? I’d rather they sleep in the wash.

    • You sound stupid. Yeah, they just sleep there for attention, or is it maybe that it’s some form of shelter? Wow, silver spoon kid much?

  2. Very sad to hear such news I don’t understand why there Will be no investigation on this person I’m sure this person has family so it’s going to just be kicked under the rug? I don’t get that one!
