Two Arrested Following Burglary Of Canyon Country Home Depot

Two suspects were arrested in Canyon Country Sunday night after allegedly leaving Home Depot with a shopping cart full of stolen merchandise, reportedly engaging in a physical altercation with store security before fleeing in a stolen vehicle, officials said.

Kevin Arias, 25, and Kurtis Lee, 29, both of Palmdale, allegedly entered the Home Depot on Golden Triangle Road around 8:30 p.m. Sunday and left the store with stolen merchandise in a shopping cart, said Lt. Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“There was a struggle over the merchandise and the suspects fled (in a stolen vehicle),” said Cambra, noting no one was injured in the altercation.

Deputies arrested Arias and Lee after the vehicle was stopped by deputies at Soledad Canyon Road and Camp Plenty.

The suspects are facing charges of burglary and driving without the owner’s consent, Cambra said.

  1. Why is the merchandise taken from Home Depot considered stolen but the car is being used without consent. Why aren’t the items taken from Home Depot considered being used without consent. Is the sheriff trying to manipulate stolen car reports by calling them non-consent use? What is this?!!

  2. Don’t blame the Sheriff Dept. they did there job. Did you forget about all these new laws that took effect not too long ago to keep all the degenerates from doing jail time. I believe that now it is not a misdemeanor if the total of stolen goods is under $900 and of course they get the right to a free appointed lawyer paid by the same people who they rob from. All complaints should go to your governor. Just sayin……..
