Earlier this week, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff deputies arrested two suspects on multiple felonies and misdemeanors after the pair allegedly broke into a vehicle at Central Park.

At around 7:10 p.m. on Monday, deputies responded to the 2700 block of Bouquet Canyon Road after receiving a call of a vehicle burglary.
A witness reported that she saw a man get out of a car, break the rear passenger side window of another vehicle, and grab a purse from the car.
“The victim called to notify her credit card companies and found that persons unknown had used her credit cards to make large purchases, well over $2,000, at the mall,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
The suspects’ vehicle was then spotted by law enforcement soon after, and deputies conducted a traffic stop near the Valencia Town Center Mall, on the corner of McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard.
Deputies found numerous store bags with new merchandise in them — the very same merchandise the credit card company had said was purchased illegally, according to Miller.
Martin Ovalle,18, of Reseda; and Juan Zuniga Diaz, 45, of Van Nuys, were arrested on charges of commercial burglary, grand theft, auto burglary, possession of burglary tools and driving without a driver’s license.
“Even if your car is locked, if suspects see something valuable they can break a window and take something within 30 seconds,” said Miller.
