Two people are in custody after they were accused of swapping license plates from their car with another in the Walmart parking lot at 27931 Kelly Johnson Pkwy in Valencia Monday morning, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.

The pair were allegedly swapping a plate from a stolen car in their possession with another car in the parking lot, said Lt. Bryan Aguilera from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The stolen car has been returned to its owner, Aguilera said.
