Detectives believe a dead body reported outside of a Valencia apartment complex was a suicide

UPDATE: Body Found In Valencia Friday Afternoon Identified

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department has identified the man who reportedly killed himself Friday afternoon, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Homicide detectives believe Patrick James Bondio, 53, of Valencia killed himself Friday night.

Bondio was pronounced dead at the scene by homicide officials outside of the apartment complex on the 24700 block of Riverchase Drive in Valencia at 5:20 p.m.

Recent statistics indicate the North Los Angeles County region has the highest rate of calls for attempted and completed suicides in Los Angeles County, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department data.

  1. Thank you to KHTS for your consistently sensitive coverage of the tragic circumstances surrounding individuals taking or attempting to take their own life. I am truly impressed that you have offered information and resources at the close of every article so that the community will be increasingly aware of the help that is available to those who are contemplating suicide and for those who may have friends, family members or colleagues who considering taking their life. We know there is a stigma attached to the subject but we also know that recovery is possible with help and understanding from the community. Our hearts and sympathies go out to the family of Patrick James Bodio, and thanks go to KHTS for your sensitive coverage.
