Deputies responded Tuesday morning to an apparent heroin overdose in Newhall, involving a 25-year-old male.

The 25-year-old man who died of an apparent heroin overdose on Tuesday has been identified as Anthony Michael Tumasone, of Newhall. Official cause of death is pending, according to a spokesman with the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to an apparent heroin overdose in Newhall Tuesday morning.
A 25-year-old male reportedly overdosed on heroin, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene but were unable to resuscitate the individual, said Sgt. Bob Wachsmuth of the Juvenile Intervention Unit.
As of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, deputies and Homicide detectives were still on scene.
Homicide detectives will investigate any death that involves a vehicle or not suspected to be natural causes, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.
