Deputies working the night shift arrested a woman in her mid 40s on The Old Road at approximately 4 a.m. Friday.
“Deputies were conducting patrol checks around businesses … when they saw a female adult driving a late-model luxury car around one of the hotel’s parking lots,” Sheriff’s Station officials said in a Facebook post about the arrest.
The woman was acting very suspicious, according to station officials, prompting one of the patrolling deputies to check on the vehicle she was driving.
“The deputy checked her license plate number in a law enforcement system and the vehicle came back as stolen,” Sheriff’s officials said. “The woman at this point stopped the vehicle, but didn’t get out. The deputy radioed for back-up assistance, detained the female adult at gunpoint and conducted a felony traffic stop.”
After she was detained, law enforcement officials found that the woman was also driving on a suspended license. The woman had an ID and credit cards on her that did not belong to her, as well as burglary tools.
She was also found with a large amount of methamphetamine, which law enforcement officials say was likely over 700 doses worth of the drug.
Deputies arrested her on three felony charges and three misdemeanor charges. Bail was set at $106,250.
