Traffic may be a little slow on Lyons Avenue tonight with the inaugural Fly By Knights Cruise Night taking up the lanes.

According to flyers posted on Facebook, car enthusiasts will parade their vehicles down Lyons from the “top” to the end at Main Street at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month starting tonight.

Drivers should meet in the parking lot of Caston’s Appliances (near Peachland Avenue) for the monthly procession.

Sheriff’s traffic deputies didn’t seem too concerned about the event, adopting a “wait and see” attitude. The Facebook invite even carries an admonition: “We’ve got our cruise night, if we’re going to keep it we will have to keep the knuckleheads in check. You all know what not to do.”

A poster inviting participants lists upcoming dates as June 16, July 21, August 18, September 15 and October 20.
