Cyclist Injured By Hit And Run Driver In Castaic

khts_crime_chpA 59-year old Castaic man was hit while riding his bicycle on The Old Road just south of Parker Road Sunday afternoon by a driver who fled the scene but was later arrested.

While an arrest has been made, the CHP is still looking for information about the collision and is asking anyone with details about the incident to call the Newhall station at 294-5540.

Donald Schick was northbound on The Old Road around 4 p.m. when he was struck by a blue 2003 GMC Yukon driven by Castaic resident Stephanie Leann Argo, 35.

The impact knocked Schick to the pavement and Argo left the scene, traveling northbound on The Old Road.

Paramedics treated Schick at the scene and he was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital with major injuries.

Argo was located in a parking lot on Sloan Canyon just west of The Old Road and was arrested for driving under the influence as well as suspicion of felony hit and run.

She was booked into the Century Detention Center in Lynwood, where she is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
