Day of Silence Supports Gay Rights

Students of the Gay-Straight Alliance at College of the Canyons celebrated the national “Day of Silence” on Wednesday….

The silence is designed to echo the silence and harassment that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people generally are subjected to in society.

The Day of Silence began just three years ago with 150,000 students nationwide and grew to over 400,000 participants by 2004.

More on this story is in today’s Signal.
