A man was found dead near the Jo Anne Darcy Library in Canyon Country Sunday morning, from what appears to be natural causes.
Homicide investigators are responding to the location to conduct a routine investigation, but at this time, foul play is not suspected.
According to Sgt. Derrick Ballentine, the fire department had responded to a “man down” call, but when they determined the man, a transient, was dead, they called the sheriff’s department.

“We got the call at 11:41 and the fire department had already been there,” Ballentine explained. “They said he probably died from hypothermia or alcohol poisoning, but they had another emergent call and had to leave.”
The man was not identified, but is described to be a white male in his 50s.
