Deadline Extended For Commission Appointments

Applications for various City of Santa Clarita commissions, panels, and committees are being accepted until August 6 by the City of Santa Clarita and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Clarita.

The positions are on the City of Santa Clarita Planning Commission; Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission; Arts Commission; Open Space Preservation District Financial Accountability Audit Panel (FAAP); or Newhall Redevelopment Committee.

Three terms of office on each Commission and Panel expire on July 31, 2010 and the new terms will expire on July 31, 2014.  Six terms of office will expire in the Newhall Redevelopment Committee January 2011 and the new terms will expire January 2015.

The deadline for submitting an application is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, at the City Clerk’s office located at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Suite 304.

All applicants must be 18 years or older, maintain their principal residence in the City of Santa Clarita during their term or office, and submit three letters of recommendation with their application.  Evening availability is required.
