Deadline Nears For Zonta Community Grant Entries

Nonprofits benefit from international service club's generosity.

[view:node_ad=5] In these difficult economic times, Zonta Club of Santa Clarita
Valley Foundation is offering non-profit organizations a chance to receive
much-needed funds. Organizations that improve the status of women of any age
are encouraged to apply for a possible $3,000 grant in time for the March 14
deadline.

Non-profits that have programs that help both men and women
are also eligible with an explanation of the programs that pertain to women.
Applications have been distributed to over 50 organizations, and any 501(c)(3)
non-profit that has not yet received an application or needs further information,
may call (661) 252-9351.

Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of
business professionals that has been in existence since 1919.  Zonta's membership worldwide is 35,000 in
more than 70 countries.

Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley was chartered in 1974 and
its Foundation formed in 1998. Zonta's mission is "Advancing the Status of
Women," and grant applications will be judged by how well the applicant’s
programs serve that mission.

Grant applications will be evaluated by Zonta’s Community
Grants Committee chaired by Diane Goddard and including members Christine
Miller, JoAnn Rodriguez, Karla Edwards, Cindie Bassett and Marsha McLean. Grant
checks will be awarded at the Zonta business meeting on Wednesday, May 13.
