Deadline To Request Vote By Mail Ballot For Special Election Is Tuesday

Voters planning to mail in their special election ballot to choose a new state senator to represent the Santa Clarita Valley must request the Vote by Mail ballot by Tuesday.

Tuesday, March 10 is the last day to request the Vote by Mail ballot for the Senate District 21 Special Primary Election, set to be held March 17, said Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/ County Clerk Dean C. Logan. State Sen. Steve Knight Plans Mobile Office Hours, Classroom Visit

This election will decide who will replace Steve Knight in the Senate, officials said. Democrats Joshua Conaway, Steve Hill and Richard Macias; Republican Jerry J Laws; Joshua C. Chandler and Jason Zink are all running for the seat.

The RR/CC office officials have mailed more than 116,700 Vote by Mail ballots to voters in Lancaster, Palmdale and Santa Clarita, officials said.

Requesting a Vote by Mail ballot can be done online, by using the back of the sample ballot booklet, or in person at the RR/CC headquarters: 12400 Imperial Hwy., Room 3002, Norwalk, CA 90650, officials said.

Voters who applied for a Vote by Mail ballot can check the status of their ballot online.

Please note, beginning January 1, 2015 all Vote by Mail ballots postmarked by Election Day will be counted if received within three days by the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (California Senate Bill 29), officials said.
