Who would have thought that the best way to help our high schools is with a chocolate shake? Rob Montgomery, owner of the Wendy’s of Santa Clarita, found a way to raise money for the Hart High School District and share sugary goodness with the community. And so far, it’s working.
For each $1 donation to the high school of their choice, donors receive a plastic key tag valid for a free junior Frosty with every purchase until June 2012. Only one month into the fundraiser, the four Santa Clarita Wendy’s sights have sold almost 5,000 key tags, putting them on the halfway point to their goal.

Canyon High received a huge number of donations last week, 3060 to be exact, putting them well ahead of all the other participating high schools. This puts them in the lead in both absolute sales and percent of enrollment, a feat that would gain them an additional $1000 prize.
