Democratic Group To Watch Obama’s Speech Together

Convention builds excitement for presidential race, new headquarters in Santa Clarita.

Members of Santa Clarita's Democratic Alliance
for Action (DAA) and MoveOn.org will gather at 5:30
p.m. Thursday for a Convention Watching Party to see Presidential candidate
Barack Obama's 7 p.m. acceptance
speech on a big screen TV.

The convention night gathering will be held at Vincenzo’s
Pizza, 24504 ½ Lyons Avenue
in Newhall and is open to everyone. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will
benefit a fund set up for the Democratic Headquarters office, which is open at 23119
Lyons Avenue in Newhall.

A grand opening party is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 14 featuring celebrities, music and lively political discourse.

The public is invited to stop by and meet Charlie Robinson
of NBC’s “Night Court” and enjoy the music of popular LA Jazz greats Joe
Bartone and Thelonious Dub.

Local Democratic candidates, including Carole Lutness, who
is running for State Assembly and Bruce McFarland, who is running for State
Senate, will meet and greet guests.

Take a grand tour and learn about volunteer opportunities in
this exciting election season. There will be refreshments and prizes, including
a cabin week-end at beautiful Pine Mountain Club.
