A woman who reported her car stolen yesterday spotted the vehicle parked on Delight Street in Canyon Country Tuesday morning and called deputies to help her recover the vehicle.
Deputies arrived at the 19400 block of Delight and watched the house, waiting for some activity, but they didn’t have to wait long.
Around 11:30 a.m., two men came out and got into the car and the deputies sprang into action, arresting Jesse Herreras, 26, of Canyon Country, who tried to explain his way out of custody, according to Lt. Mark Hershey.

They also arrested Quentin Williams, 39, who appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and is also a parolee. Herreras was arrested for suspicion of grand theft; Williams, as a parole violator, is being held on a no-bail hold.
Both men were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station.
Within an hour of that arrest, deputies responded to a suspected burglary in progress on Via Nautica in Valencia. A resident on the street said two men had broken in through his next-door-neighbor’s window and were in the house; when deputies arrived, the men ran out of the house, jumped the fence and were captured in the informant’s back yard.
In custody is a 17-year old male, being held not only for suspicion of burglary but also on a no-bail hold from Juvenile Court and Walter Denny, 19, a transient, who was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Both were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station.
