Deputies Detain Man Who Claimed To Be Armed Inside Stevenson Ranch Walmart

Deputies detained a man who allegedly claimed he was armed inside the Walmart in Stevenson Ranch on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies received a report of a man claiming to have a firearm inside the store on the Old Road at 11:06 a.m., according to Lt. Rob Hahnlein.

The man reportedly entered the store’s restroom and refused to come out, then changed his mind and attempted to leave the store.

Deputies detained the man outside the store, Hahnlein said, noting that no weapon was found.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported in relation to the incident.
