Burglary investigation leads to recovery of stolen property and arrest

ImageDeputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Career Offenders Burglary Robbery Apprehension (COBRA) Team and the Community Interaction Team (CIT), in conjunction with State Parole Agents, conducted a parole compliance check at a residence in the 19400 block of San Marino Court in connection with a burglary investigation.

Deputies report that they arrested Laura Kauf, FW/41, of Canyon Country after reportedly finding methamphetamine, a motorcycle which was stolen out of Mississippi in August of 2006 and suspected stolen financial items belonging to other individuals in the residence.

She was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony charges of Taking a Vehicle Without the Owners Consent, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Receiving Stolen Property. She is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Detectives are seeking the public's assistance in locating a second individual, Jonathan Gautreaux, described as a MW/24, 6'0 tall, 175 lbs, shaved head, with blue eyes, who is wanted in connection with these and other crimes. He is believed to be in the Santa Clarita Valley area. Anyone with any information should contact Detective Finn at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.
