Deputies Make Quick Work Of Alleged Purse Snatchers

Just after 11:00 a.m. Sunday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies from the Santa Clarita station responded to a purse snatching call near Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road.

According to Sgt. Cortland Meyers, a male suspect allegedly grabbed a woman’s purse as she was exiting the Albertsons grocery store. The suspect then fled in a pick up truck.

After reporting the incident to the Sheriff’s department, a nearby deputy spotted the getaway vehicle. The male suspect and a female counterpart then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

A containment was established in the Canyon Country area until both suspects were apprehended at about 12:15 p.m.
