Deputy March's Suspected Killer Now In Sheriff's Custody

Deputy David March, a veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was just doing his job when he pulled over a Nissan Maxima nearly five years ago. The driver of the car then got out, and shot Deputy March, killing him.

David March was a resident of Santa Clarita, and word of his tragic murder shocked the city.

What’s even worse is that his suspected killer fled to Mexico, where he was able to stay free until an arrest 11 months ago.

After his arrest, many people pushed to have him extradited back to the United States, but Mexico usually does not extradite those who could face the death penalty.

Today, Sheriff’s officials declared that the seemingly impossible task had been done, and Jorge Garcia was now in their custody.

He will be charged with the murder of Deputy David March.
