Detectives Ask For Help With Residential Burglary Suspect

khts_crime_genericDetectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Burglary and Theft team are investigating an attempted residential burglary which occurred at 9:30 a.m. on March 24.

A man driving the vehicle pictured below knocked on the front door of a residence in the 29800 block of Berkshire Place in Castaic.

 

suspectvehicleThe homeowner, believing it was a salesperson, did not answer the door. The homeowner watched from an upstairs window waiting for the man to return to his vehicle. The homeowner heard a loud sound inside her house coming from the downstairs area. As she was walking downstairs, the man was walking up the stairs. The man appeared surprised and ran out the house. He got into the vehicle pictured in this bulletin and drove out of view.

The suspect is described as a male white, 50-60 years of age, 180-190 pounds, gray hair.

The vehicle is a 1990-2000 Chevy Tahoe or Trailblazer with a possible partial license plate of ‘5RF’. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective Christensen at 799-5138.
