Bag dispensers for doggie droppings were the target of fire-setting Tevin Doyle Gibson, a 19-year old Saugus resident who was arrested early Friday morning when he attempted to light a dispenser.
Gibson is a suspect in 17 other arsons set in the late evening and early morning hours involving the dispensers that line the Valencia paseos.
Arson/explosives detail investigators working with Santa Clarita Valley detectives arrested Gibson after staking out the area where the numerous fires had been set. The fires caused damage to both city and private property along the walkways.
Detectives waiting along the paseo near Rosemont Lane caught Gibson in the act at approximately 3 a.m. Friday. He was arrested on suspicion of felony arson and booked at Santa Clarita Valley station, where he remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail.
This was the second arrest for Gibson, who was booked in February for a misdemeanor weapons violation.
