Proceeds benefit local Boy Scouts
Gathered at the Hyatt Valencia, dressed in formal attire, attendees honored local leaders for their contribution to our community, during the 2nd Annual Leaders of Character Recognition Dinner last Saturday. All honorees were chosen because they have exemplified characteristics of the Boy Scout Law: helpfulness, kindness, courage, and reverence, among many others.
This year's nominees were: Carl and Jeri Goldman, owners of KHTS AM 1220 Radio, Jim Ventress, Chief Operating Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley, and COC Superintendent-President Dr. Dianne Van Hook along with her husband and supporter Roger Van Hook.
Total Financial Solutions Inc. President Arif Halaby said that the honorees character inspired him to sponsor the event, for a second year. “We at Total Financial Solutions Inc. believe so strongly that financial success is tied to character and discipline, as well as the other tenets supported by the Scout Credo, that we are compelled to sponsor this event, and honor its recipients.”
The Scout Credo, which sometimes is called the Scout Promise, is as follows:
“On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my country, and to obey the Scout Law. To help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong. Mentally awake, and morally straight.”
