The Newhall School District would like a few more civic-minded individuals to serve on its Measure E bond oversight committee.

Superintendent Marc Winger said as of Thursday, seven people had applied for the minimum-required seven positions as specified in the bond language, but the school district would like to have a bigger pool of applicants when the school board makes its selections in March.
“We want voters to trust that we will be transparent about the use of these bond dollars,” school board President Christy Smith said.
Applications are available online at www.newhallschooldistrict.net or by calling 661-291-4162. The deadline is Jan. 30.
