One in three adolescents in the U.S is a victim of abuse from a romantic partner, and that statistic is no different right here in Santa Clarita, according to DVC officials.
“The only way to break the silence is to get people to talk about it. There is no shame in this, it’s something that happens, and until we start talking, people feel will keep feeling ashamed,” said Executive Director Linda Davies. “Parents understand how important first relationships are for teens — these kids are super committed.”
The contest asks participants to create a 60-second film to engage viewers, and educate or bring awareness to violence in teen relationships.
