Dropping Gas Prices Could Continue to Decline

Local gas prices dipped slightly over the week — an indication that prices may continue to steadily decline the rest of the year, according to experts.
Randy Cressall, owner of the Valencia Chevron AutoSpa, said the average price of regular unleaded gasoline should continue to drop as long as there is no interruption in the worldwide supply of crude oil…

He said prices could drop by as much as 10 cents a gallon.
“If there are no problems in our supply, it has to go down,” Cressall said Friday. However “the minute something goes wrong (with the supply), we have seen an immediate impact of prices.”
A gallon of regular unleaded gasoline sold for an average of $2.430 in the Santa Clarita Valley Thursday, compared to $2.449 last week and $2.212 a gallon at the end of September, according to a survey conducted Thursday by Cressall for The Signal.
Regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.427 at neighborhood stations in the SCV Thursday, down 1.5 cents from last week.
A gallon of regular unleaded sold for an average of $2.432 at stations located along the freeway Thursday, down 2.4 cents from last weeks average.
Four of the five lowest priced gasoline stations in the valley Thursday were in Canyon Country, including $2.309 a gallon at Unbranded on Soledad Canyon Road; $2.329 a gallon at Arco on Sierra Highway; $2.369 a gallon at USA Gasoline on Soledad Canyon Road; and $2.369 a gallon at Mobil on Via Princessa.
