Friday night, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials will be
setting up a DUI checkpoint in an undisclosed location during the late evening
and early morning hours.
Each time a DUI checkpoint is conducted, the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s
station informs the local media. While that may seem to undermine their efforts
on the day of the checkpoint, it actually helps. Deputies hope that if
motorists know of their presence, then they will avoid drinking and driving in
the first place. This will keep the streets safe for everyone else.
The DUI checkpoint programs are conducted using grant money
from the state of California.
